Thank you for your interest in using the HxA Speakers Bureau! We are thrilled to help universities and other organizations learn about our HxA members and help event organizers find speakers who will take attendees on a joyous intellectual journey.
- If you are an engaged member of HxA and otherwise meet the criteria to be in the HxA Speakers Bureau (see How it Works), you must create a unique account to create your speaker profile. (Note: this account is distinct from your HxA member portal login credentials.) You will get a message from our HxA Speakers Bureau platform to confirm your new account. Then you can get started. (Later you can always log back in and edit/update your profile.)
- Be sure you have read the Terms of Service (linked in the signup email and also in the "About" section of the HxA Speakers Bureau website).
- Take a look at some of the speaker profiles on the site already to get ideas for how speakers present their bios and credentials.
- Once you are ready to create your speaker profile, you will click on "Add Speaker Profile" after which you will see a prompt for "Listing Title"-- this is where you put your name (e.g., "Jane Doe") or a very short description of yourself (e.g., "Philosopher Jane Doe Examines the Culture Wars"). Then you will be prompted to offer a "Detailed Description" -- this is where you should put a short bio.
- After you have completed and submitted your speaker profile, HxA staff will receive an email and confirm that you are an HxA member, review your listing, get back to you if we have any questions, and, if the listing is accepted, publish your speaker profile. Those whose listings are being published will receive an email notification when their listing has been reviewed, approved, and published. HxA does not guarantee being listed in the Speakers Bureau.
