Sean Stevens

Sean Stevens has a Ph.D in Social Psychology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey – New Brunswick. He is currently the Chief Research Advisor for the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE). For almost two decades, Sean's research focuses on understanding how moral convictions produce motivated reasoning, creating obstacles to political compromise and distorting research in the social sciences. More recently, Sean has begun investigating the psychological factors that motivate support for censorship. He is also a member of the Best Practices in Science Movement, and he works to promote scientific integrity practices in the social sciences.
