Catherine Johnson

Catherine Johnson is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Wyoming in Laramie and the co-chair of the Heterodox Campus Community at UW. She holds an MA in Literature and an MFA in Creative Nonfiction Writing. She is passionate about critical and creative thinking and makes it the explicit foundation of every class she teaches, as well as a tool to navigate polarization and foster understanding across differences. She explored critical thinking as essential to the university's telos in her presentation "Baldwin's Paradox" at Heterodox Academy's 2022 Conference in Denver. Her essays have appeared in Oregon Humanities, Propeller, Portland Monthly Magazine, Nowhere Travel Magazine and in the anthology Evergreen: Fairy Tales, Essays & Fables from the Dark Northwest.
